Job Description:

Individual contributor responsible for the overall assessment of risks and loss prevention, providing advice and technical assistance for business insurance.

The selected individual is recognized as a technical specialist in a range of products within a specialized insurance branch. The role involves working within the limits of delegated authority on highly complex files and collaborating with market intermediaries. The scope may be regional, sectoral, or company-wide.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
  1. Perform tasks following company guidelines, including risk assessment at sites and workplaces, providing loss prevention and risk mitigation services for significant or complex accounts.
  2. Provide risk evaluation information to support underwriting processes for potential and new accounts, as well as renewals, and recommend risk control measures.
  3. Assess client needs for risk control programs, develop and implement tailored strategies and improvement plans.
  4. Recommend policies and strategies related to risk control, marketing, and business development to support profitability and growth.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
  6. Develop and deliver educational activities, training, and presentations.
  7. Offer expertise in one or more specialty areas to internal and external clients.
  8. Identify and develop new products and services.
  9. Visit agencies and brokers to build relationships, discuss accounts, and market CNA products and services.
  10. Lead specific projects as responsible.

Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • Bilingual in French and English required.
  • Degree in Fire Prevention/Protection or Engineering, or equivalent experience; professional certification is a plus.
  • At least three years of risk control experience.
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection systems.
  • Strong technical expertise in products, risk assessment, and insurance principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Technical and commercial understanding of risk management and insurance practices.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant industry software.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
