About The Opportunity

Reporting to the Business Manager, Primary Health Care, Central zone, the Operations Consultant is responsible for working with the broader Primary Health Care (PHC) team to advance the strategic and operational priorities of the portfolio. The Consultant, Operations, has a responsibility for supporting the coordination of the planning, development and implementation of the activities assigned under the direction of the Business Manager.

The scope of practice will include various roles as facilitator, coordinator, communicator, and planner. The Consultant works according to the mission, vision, values and policies of Nova Scotia Health Authority and PHC/District Department of Family Practice to support the development and implementation of PHC programs, services and initiatives throughout the province. The consultant's activities are guided by PHC priority areas, multiple stakeholders and by community needs and, therefore, require a professional approach. This work requires recognition and application of best practice and application of evidenced informed decision making.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Baccalaureate degree from a health discipline/health science field
  • Masters' Degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 3-5 years working experience and responsibilities in a senior coordinator position or equivalent
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, delivery and evaluation of PHC and community-based initiatives
  • Experience in leading quality initiatives
  • Experience in maintaining information in a database
  • Demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities
  • Experience within a health-related environment preferred
  • Experience in a primary health care / community-based setting preferred
  • Experience in program and service development, implementation and evaluation required
  • Knowledge of disease prevention, health promotion, chronic disease management, and population health preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership in facilitation with internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required as this role requires travel across the Zone
  • Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset

Compensation And Benefits

$38.36 - $47.95 hourly
