Job summary

A leading health services organization located in Halifax is seeking a Consultant to support the Integrated Youth Services program. This role involves facilitating system change and engaging with community partners to improve youth-focused mental health services. The ideal candidate has a background in health services administration, strong communication skills, and experience in program planning. This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary range of $40.95 - $51.19 hourly.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in strategic or performance improvement projects.
  • PMP or CAPM certification is an asset.
  • Experience in systems change initiatives and program planning.

The Opportunity

The Integrated Youth Services (IYS) program aims to develop effective, youth-focused, integrated services for mental health, substance use, and related issues. As part of this initiative, the Consultant, Planning and Improvement will support the startup, implementation, and scaling of IYS sites across Nova Scotia, working closely with community partners, youth, and families. Responsibilities include system change facilitation, quality improvement, stakeholder engagement, data collection, and evaluation to foster equitable outcomes.

Hours of Work

Monday-Friday, 08:30-16:30; 75 hours bi-weekly, with occasional evening work and travel within Nova Scotia.

Your Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Health Services Administration, Health Information Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least three years’ experience in strategic or performance improvement projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or CAPM certification is an asset.
  • Experience in system change initiatives, facilitation, and program planning.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of mental health and addictions systems and program evaluation methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, software tools, and system re-design methodologies.
  • Fluent communication skills; additional languages are an asset.
