What you'll be doing
As a Consultant, Audit & Controls Governance, you will support the Sr. Consultant, Audit & Controls governance within the Office of the CIO and will work collaboratively with other team members to provide compliance oversight and governance support to LOB's within PBDFST and operational areas in order to ensure policies and procedures are followed at a level commensurate with CIBC risk appetite. You will conduct audit pre-screening for Lines of Business (LOBs) to ensure compliance with established standards. You will also assist in the review and implementation of CIBC Standards focusing on ongoing monitoring and guidance during each review. (Please note this is a governance role to support technology delivery groups and not an internal audit role).

How You’ll Succeed
Relationship Building - You will respond to client inquiries and requests, providing professional high-quality customer service for the assigned portfolio to ensure client satisfaction. You will liaise and interact with clients as part of the daily management of your portfolio.
Administration & Analytical Thinking - Provide analysis and support to initiatives that support internal clients. Provide support to LOB's within PBDFST in understanding, identifying, and addressing all applicable laws, regulations, and CIBC policies. This includes partnering with the Legal Division, Compliance Dept, and Governance Risk & Controls to understand implications, and create action plans to resolve new and pending laws and regulations that affect LOB's within PBDFST.
Business Acumen - You have a good understanding of effective IT Governance components such as Value Delivery, Strategic Alignment, Performance Management, and Risk Management. Actively monitor compliance with governing legislation against a pre-defined set of criteria, in order to assess the business on at minimum a quarterly basis. Involved in report generation concerning the adequacy and effectiveness of processes for compliance, as well as the status control of compliance matters identified internally. Provide support for any required testing under Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) policies, Financial Process Controls (FPC) and Operational Process Controls (OPC) as well as Quarterly Key Process Controls. Involved in the management and reporting of the Records management policy. Conduct audit pre-screening for Lines of Business (LOBs) to ensure compliance with established standards. Assist the Sr. Consultant in managing the deficiency management process, ensuring timely resolution of identified issues. Perform continuous reviews of controls to ensure alignment with key and non-key controls within LOBs. Regularly review and update LOB process documentation to reflect current practices and compliance requirements. Support the Sr. Consultant in managing the Risk Control Identification (RCI) process wherever applicable. Evaluate the impact of introducing new CIBC policies/standards that need to be customized and implemented in LOB's within PBDFST. Provide input, analysis, and/or perspective in the design, development, communication, and maintenance of procedures.
Who You Are
You can demonstrate experience in developing, planning, and executing Internal or External Audits. You have 4 – 5 years of experience within Audit & Compliance functions and have a strong understanding of technology delivery, Internal quality controls, SOX/ITGC controls, Records management and CIBC Standards. Ideally, you have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), a collaborative mindset, and are well-versed in both Excel and PowerPoint.
