Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and experienced consultant clinical psychologist to join Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust CAMHS.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the design and delivery of evidence-based care pathways and psychological interventions for childhood emotional health and well-being issues across the local system.
  • Support whole system transformation and lead change programs aligned with 'Future in Mind' and iThrive recommendations.
  • Ensure systematic provision of high-quality clinical psychology and interventions within multidisciplinary teams for children and families across all care sectors.
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines, overseeing the governance of psychological practices.
  • Embed a culture of early intervention and promote recovery and self-management within the service.

Job responsibilities

As the Consultant Lead Clinical Psychologist, you will provide clinical leadership for psychologists and practitioners delivering interventions in CAMHS. This includes overseeing psychological services for various specialties like Looked After Children, Autism, and Learning Disability. You will develop and deliver evidence-based care pathways emphasizing recovery, self-management, and capacity building, and conduct specialist psychological assessments based on complex data interpretation.

Person Specification

Applicants should possess:

  • Doctorate or equivalent in clinical psychology, accredited by BPS, with expertise in models of clinical, psychometrics, multiple therapies, and child development psychology.
  • Experience as a qualified clinical psychologist working with children, young people, and families, including line management of psychological staff.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey sensitive information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working in various settings, including home, community, acute, residential, and foster care environments.
  • Additional training in therapeutic models such as CBT, CAT, or psychoanalytic therapies.
  • Experience representing psychology within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Deep knowledge of psychological therapies and assessment methodologies for specific groups.
