Job Description:

Reporting to the Best Practice Manager, the Best Practice Consultant plays a crucial role in developing and implementing priority initiatives across Individual Insurance Operations, encompassing New Business, In-force, and Claims. This position ensures consistency, supports organizational needs, drives change, and delivers outcomes that achieve performance excellence and foster business growth.

The Insurance Best Practice team is a key enablement partner for Insurance Operations and Retail Advice and Solutions, maintaining close working relationships with partners to execute impactful changes. Our diverse team is structured into four specialized PODs:

  • Innovation, Digital & Process Design: Leads and consults on innovation and improvement initiatives.

  • Product & Specialty Marketing: Develops process and change management plans to support product launches, enhancements, and promotional campaigns.

  • Risk Management: Partners with Operational Risk Management to identify, assess, and mitigate risk issues across Insurance Operations.

  • Knowledge Management and Continuous Improvement: Improves and maintains workflows, forms, tools, and knowledge management systems.

While the team collaborates regularly, we are recruiting consultants for the Innovation, Digital and Process Design, Product & Specialty Marketing, and Risk Management PODs.

What will you do?

  • Support transformational initiatives across the business as a strategic consultant

  • Lead and support project deliverables, including impact analysis, training support, and benefit measurement

  • Develop and implement new digital tools to support the Insurance customer value stream

  • Identify improvement opportunities and champion proposals

  • Support risk identification and execute management action plans

  • Liaise between business and Audit teams, participate in preparation, walkthroughs, and testing

  • Manage company policies related to records management and business continuity

  • Interpret and adapt processes to meet new regulatory requirements

As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

What do you need to succeed:

  • Knowledge of Individual Insurance products and distribution channels

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights

  • Proven experience in leading and supporting projects and initiatives

  • Ability to contribute to strategies and execute business plans

  • Passion for delivering exceptional client experiences and driving continuous improvement

  • Excellent oral and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills

  • Strong prioritization and time management capabilities

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence stakeholders across various levels

  • Adaptability and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

  • Attention to detail balanced with big-picture understanding

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training in Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement methodologies

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt certification

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Tableau)

  • Operational management experience

  • LOMA – ACS for Insurance certification

  • Experience working with legal, compliance, distribution, or product teams
