What you'll be doing

The Test Environment Operations and Consulting (TEOC) team is responsible for providing operational support in 5 non-production mainframe environments to CIBC’s mainframe application teams. These teams make code changes that require a stable, up-to-date version of the production system for testing scenarios. As a Consultant, Infrastructure Management, you will collaborate with external vendors to maintain, manage, and schedule updates to the system's software infrastructure. This requires knowledge of existing and planned software technologies, as well as the global, regional, and local software architecture and infrastructure components (IMS/DB2/CICS).

How you'll succeed

  • Relationship building – Collaborate closely with the TEOC teams to plan, coordinate, and implement changes based on meetings, approvals, and deadlines. Grow your network, deepen relationships, and work with others to connect teammates, technology, and business partners to opportunities.

  • Client engagement – Meet with Technology and Business partners to understand their priorities, review requirements, advise on solutions, and share options they may not be aware of. Use your knowledge of Mainframe banking systems, infrastructure, and processes to help clients meet their goals.

  • Leveraging technology – Become a technology expert. Share your knowledge by introducing clients to TEOC’s offerings and capabilities, helping them manage their mainframe testing needs effectively.

Who you are

  • You have extensive hands-on experience with 5-10 years working with systems software infrastructure. Knowledge of existing software technologies and their architecture/infrastructure components is essential. Experience with Mainframe tools such as IMS/DB2/CICS is required. JCL experience is an asset. You should demonstrate experience in managing changes to mainframe environments, including application software, databases, operating systems, and hardware. Ability to support and implement changes to mainframe application databases and tables.
