Job description

We have been assigned by one of the UK's most prestigious NHS Trusts to help recruit a Consultant in General Radiology on either a Substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Radiology department.

Our client is one of the best performing Trusts in the country and is highly regarded as a top place to work. Staff report high engagement and motivation, and the Trust has been rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission across all main domains, with an 'Outstanding' rating for 'use of resources' by NHS Improvement. They have invested significantly in their facilities, including a £10 million annual estate investment and a £25 million expansion of critical care facilities and redevelopment of the children's unit.

The successful candidate will join a team of 36 radiologists supported by radiographic, nursing, managerial, administrative staff, and support personnel. Responsibilities include:

  1. Maintaining high standards of imaging quality and participating in clinical audits and governance.
  2. Contributing to the development of a new Acute Diagnostic Centre.
  3. Participating in on-call duties on a 1:16 basis, with remote reporting facilities.
  4. Involvement in recruitment, induction, and appraisal of junior medical staff.
