Organizational Setting

The Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications implements the IAEA's Major Programme 2, "Nuclear Techniques for Development and Environmental Protection". This programme includes initiatives on food and agriculture, human health, water resources, environment, and radiation technologies, supported by laboratories in Seibersdorf, Monaco, and Vienna. Its goal is to enhance Member States' capacity to meet human needs and manage environments using nuclear and isotopic techniques.

Main Purpose

The Isotope Hydrology Section seeks a water science expert to analyze data from the GloWAL Baseline survey. The consultant will extract insights from participant data to support the GloWAL Network's anticipatory actions and develop indicators to evaluate its progress.

Functions / Key Results Expected
  1. Analyze the GloWAL Baseline Survey dataset.
  2. Create data visualizations illustrating regional and global insights.
  3. Assist in preparing comprehensive reports for Member State participants.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Expertise in Isotope Hydrology and Data Analysis.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques is an asset.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Water Science, or related fields.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in data science and visualization.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of other IAEA languages is an asset.
Remuneration

Daily fee up to €250, with travel allowances if needed. Incumbent bears health and pension costs.
