Their Gastroenterology department is busy and well-developed, covering a broad range of services for patients with gastrointestinal disorders. Led by specialist medical and surgical gastroenterologists, services include rapid access diagnostics for GI malignancies through endoscopy and Faster Diagnostic Standard (FDS). They are a regional cancer centre for upper GI and colorectal cancers, fully accredited for endoscopy training and a Regional Training Centre with JAG. They provide assessment, treatment, and ongoing care for gastrointestinal and liver conditions. The Endoscopy unit is also a nominated site for the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Program.
