We are seeking a Consultant Engineer - Boiler and Machinery to join our Toronto Field Engineering team. The role involves identifying and evaluating hazards related to boilers, machinery, and equipment while consulting with clients across Canada. Responsibilities include performing risk assessments during on-site visits, evaluating risks to boilers, pressure vessels, turbines, electrical equipment, and utilities, and providing recommendations to mitigate risks. The role may also involve jurisdictional inspections of boilers and pressure vessels.
The successful candidate will work independently with minimal supervision, conducting office tasks from a home office, and traveling to large industrial client sites (approximately 35% overnight travel). The geographic area covers Central & Eastern Canada, including diverse industries such as forest products, power generation, mining, chemical, printing, retail, and telecommunications. Residency in the Greater Toronto Area is preferred.
Extensive training will be provided to develop expertise in large, complex industrial facilities, focusing on sectors like pulp & paper, mining, power, chemical, and molten materials. Continuous technical training and professional growth opportunities are integral to this role.
