What you'll be doing

Our Digital Banking team is focused on shaping seamless, client-centered digital experiences that support CIBC’s strategic priorities. As a Consultant, Digital Product Strategy, you’ll help define the strategy for our digital products by assessing and informing digital client journeys, developing business cases and product roadmaps, and providing initiative-level direction for some of our highest-impact digital banking initiatives. Given the scope of your mandate, you’ll regularly extend your expertise beyond your immediate team by partnering with and advising stakeholders and senior executives. You’ll play a key role in ensuring strategic initiatives are grounded in clear business rationale, aligned to client and business needs, and positioned for successful delivery. Through your work, you’ll help create clarity, consistency, and momentum across squads and initiatives. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on‑site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

• Business case development and roadmap planning - Lead the development of squad-level roadmaps, business cases, and benefit forecasts for highly visible Digital Banking initiatives. Ensure each initiative entering the backlog is supported by a clear, measurable, and compelling business rationale.
• Discovery and initiative framing - Lead discovery activities in partnership with Product Owners and key stakeholders to establish business direction, journey context, and initiative framing. Create the strategic foundation that informs requirements and supports overall squad success.
• Epic development and quality - Own Epics as a key deliverable, defining business objectives, success metrics, and scope before detailed stories are created. Maintain a high quality standard for Epics across the team to support effective planning and execution.
• Cross‑squad advisory support - Extend your expertise beyond your primary squad by providing advisory support to additional squads or initiatives as capacity allows. Help bring consistency, strong practices, and thoughtful business execution planning across the broader team.

Who you are

You can demonstrate relevant experience. You bring 5+ years of experience in business analysis, digital product strategy, or a related discipline, ideally within financial services or another regulated environment. You have strong strategic delivery experience. You have a proven track record of owning Epics, business cases, or similar initiative‑level deliverables, and translating them into roadmaps that Product Owners and delivery teams can execute with confidence. You’re a trusted mentor and collaborator. You have experience mentoring or informally guiding colleagues. While this role does not include formal people leadership accountability, team‑level mentorship is an important part of the mandate. You’re an effective communicator. You’re confident engaging with senior business stakeholders and can build, present, and defend a business case at the executive level. You can demonstrate experience in agile delivery practices, Jira, Epics and Stories, story‑writing standards, and INVEST principles. It’s an asset if you’ve applied these capabilities in a complex, multi‑squad environment. Values matter to you.
