Qualifications

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Consultant, Business Analytics in Credit Adjudication, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the department’s analytics strategy and delivering advanced consulting advice to senior leaders. You will lead the design and execution of complex analytics initiatives, leveraging advanced statistical modeling, data mining, and machine learning techniques to generate actionable insights that drive business performance and inform strategic decision-making. You will work autonomously and collaboratively, researching industry best practices, tools, and systems to continuously enhance our analytics capabilities. You will identify and recommend enhancements to automated systems, develop standardized reporting frameworks, and ensure the department’s leadership has timely, relevant, and high-impact information. Your work will influence department strategy, support enterprise-wide initiatives, and help CIBC remain at the forefront of data-driven decision-making.

How You’ll Succeed


  • Business Effectiveness - Lead the identification and implementation of process, reporting, and technology improvements that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across Credit Adjudication. Drive continuous improvement and innovation in analytics and reporting practices.

  • Strategic Leadership - Manage and execute high-impact data, reporting, and analytics projects aligned to CIBC’s strategic priorities, business goals, and key performance indicators. Apply a strategic mindset to mobilize and engage cross-functional teams and deliver enterprise-wide change.

  • Relationship Management - Build and manage strong partnerships with senior leaders, business partners, and external stakeholders. Champion a client-focused approach and ensure the analytics team delivers exceptional service and value to the organization.

  • Communication - Communicate complex analysis, insights, and technology solutions clearly and persuasively to audiences at all levels, including executives. Prepare well-structured business documents, presentations, and recommendations that drive action.

  • Reporting and Analysis - Oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of reporting frameworks and performance metrics. Track progress, analyze trends, and generate insights that support strategic decision-making and business performance management.


Who You Are


  • You can demonstrate experience in. Advanced analytics, data extraction, and business intelligence, with hands‑on expertise in programming languages and modern big data, analytics, and dashboard tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, ThoughtSpot, MS Power, Dataverse, Power Automate, Power Apps, PowerBI).

  • You have a degree in. A relevant field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, engineering, business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree (MMA, MBAN, MSc, MA, MBA) is an asset.

  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You communicate detailed information in a meaningful way.
