THE OPPORTUNITY

The Mastercard Foundation is seeking a talented Brand and Communications professional to manage the Foundation’s brand and develop a cohesive brand story and design vocabulary. This role will also oversee the editorial pipeline for enterprise and signature research publications and contribute to dissemination strategies to raise awareness of the Foundation’s work and impact across internal and external stakeholders.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Mastercard Foundation is seeking a talented Brand and Communications professional to manage the Foundation’s brand and develop a cohesive brand story and design vocabulary. This role will also oversee the editorial pipeline for enterprise and signature research publications and contribute to dissemination strategies to raise awareness of the Foundation’s work and impact across internal and external stakeholders.

This is a 12-month consultant position, subject to renewal, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic, international environment.

Ways You Can Contribute

  • Develop and implement the enterprise brand strategy, including style guides, brand guidelines, brand vision, narrative, and value proposition.
  • Ensure compliance with the Foundation’s brand architecture framework across all internal and external communications.
  • Identify brand awareness opportunities in collaboration with the Public Affairs and Communications (PAC) team.
  • Work closely with Brand, Content, Program Communications, and Legal & Compliance teams to ensure alignment in branding of partner programs and materials.
  • Oversee content gathering, asset management, and storytelling alignment across the organization.
  • Support implementation and management of the brand measurement framework.
  • Manage the editorial pipeline, including design, production, and dissemination of enterprise publications and reports.
  • Lead integrated campaigns and enterprise storytelling initiatives to enhance the Foundation’s profile in key markets.
  • Manage relationships with vendors (photographers, videographers, editors, graphic designers, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., copyright and data protection).
  • Update and maintain the PAC Brand site on the Foundation’s intranet as needed.
  • Support testing plans, brand research, and reputation audits, and contribute to metrics reporting.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in brand and content communications, journalism, and/or public relations.
  • Demonstrated experience in brand architecture development, brand management, and content strategy.
  • Strong project management skills for both web and print materials.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills across diverse audiences.
  • Understanding of content, social media best practices, and measurement metrics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PPT, Excel, Word) and design tools such as Adobe InDesign.
  • Experience with knowledge management, video, graphic design, and editorial development is an asset.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
  • Experience working with international teams and understanding regional needs and preferences.
  • Professional maturity, cultural sensitivity, and integrity aligned with the Foundation’s values.
