As a Consultant, Back End Application Development, you will join CIBC’s Application Development team, with responsibility to convert specifications about business requirements into programming instructions.
Reviewing, analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and debugging primarily back‑end Java/Spring Framework and Event Mesh based applications that support the enterprise customer information system.
This role is comprised of approximately 20% design, 70% development, and 10% support and continuous improvement for customization, enhancement, modernization and maintenance related project work.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on‑site, while other days will be remote.
You demonstrate 9+ years experience in.
You can clearly demonstrate technical understanding of Java/J2EE, SQL, SOAP-XML/REST-JSON, Microservices, YAML, XSD, UML, Spring, Spring boot, Event Driven Development, Solace/PubSub+, gRPC and Event Mesh platform, Linux/REHL, Docker, OpenShift, Unix Shell Scripts, File based processing apps, GitHub bash, GitHub CoPilot and AI powered applications, SVN, Maven/Ant, Junit, JIRA-Confluence, Scrum, Snyk, Sonar.
You have work experience in Agile, Iterative and Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC).
Ideally, you have strong verbal & written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to articulate yourself clearly to technology partners.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Technical discipline.
