Job summary

ERM is seeking an Aquatic Biologist to contribute to high-visibility environmental projects across Western and Northern Canada. You will support aquatic baseline programs, monitoring studies, and impact assessments for clients committed to responsible stewardship.

In this role you’ll plan and execute field programs in freshwater and marine environments, manage data with QA/QC rigor, and communicate findings through technical reports to inform regulatory decisions.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Aquatic Biology or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience planning, managing, and executing aquatic field programs (freshwater and/or marine), including work in remote settings.
  • Strong data management and statistical analysis skills using R or similar software.
  • Experience with field and data QA/QC processes.

Responsibilities

  • Advance aquatic science through field programs, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Provide insights into water and sediment quality and aquatic community composition.
  • Support baseline assessments, impact evaluations, and long-term monitoring programs.
  • Ensure data integrity and defensibility through QA/QC and consistent methodologies.
