Job summary

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce is seeking an experienced Consultant, Application Development (SAP) to design, develop, test, and deploy SAP ABAP applications. You will review code, optimize programs, and support upgrades in a hybrid, on-site friendly environment in Toronto.

You should bring 5–8 years of SAP ABAP development, hands-on OO ABAP on the S/4HANA platform, and CDS/OData experience. SAP FI/CO knowledge is a plus; certifications are welcome.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of SAP ABAP development experience.
  • Experience with ABAP reports, dialog programming, enhancements, and forms (Smart Forms, SAP Script, Adobe Forms).
  • Hands-on OO ABAP, S/4HANA, and CDS views; knowledge of Fiori/UI5 is a plus.
  • Experience integrating with SAP modules and third-party systems; SAP FI/CO familiarity is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy SAP ABAP applications (reports, interfaces, BAPIs, BADIs, forms).
  • Conduct code reviews to enforce SAP best practices and CIBC standards.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize SAP custom developments and integrations; support upgrades and migrations.
  • Provide production on-call support after office hours as required.

Your responsibilities will include conducting code reviews to ensure adherence to SAP best practices and CIBC development standards, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to SAP custom developments and integrations, and optimizing existing SAP programs for improved system performance. Advise on best practices for SAP development and integration, ensuring smooth collaboration across workstreams. Share your expertise in ABAP development and SAP S/4HANA with peers and support teams.* **Solution Creation Process-** Lead, facilitate, and coordinate the design, development, and deployment of custom SAP solutions. Ensure technical alignment and compliance across business and technical teams, and support integration with other SAP modules and third-party systems.**Who you are*** **You demonstrate 5-8 years of experience in.** Seasoned SAP ABAP developer, having solid experience in ABAP programming, including Reports, Dialog Programming, Enhancements, and Forms (Smart Forms, SAP script, Adobe Forms). You have hands-on experience with Object-Oriented ABAP, development on the S/4HANA platform, and knowledge of HANA-specific optimizations such as CDS Views. Strong technical foundation to design, develop, test, and deploy custom SAP applications using ABAP, including Reports, Interfaces, BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, Enhancements, and Forms, Enhancement Framework, BADI/User Exits, modular programming, and developing and consuming OData services. You have experience integrating with SAP Fiori/UI5 applications, and exposure to SAP Fiori/UI5 development is an asset.
