Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Various locations. Construction site. Tasks: Load, unload and transport construction materials. Operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials. Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Operate bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move and place plant machinery and materials. Pave and rake asphalt. Clean and pile salvaged materials. Perform routine maintenance work. Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites. Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction. Direct traffic at or near construction sites. Equipment and machinery experience: Bobcats. Forklift. Hand tools. Construction specialization: Industrial, commercial and institutional. Roads and bridges. Sidewalks and curbs. Poured concrete. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail. Personal suitability: Accurate. Flexibility. Team player. Hardworking.
