Job Description

The Superintendent manages all field and site-specific construction activities, including the Chandos Production System, project design, budget, schedule, performance, subtrades, and profitability of commercial projects. Effective communication with project managers and clients is essential to stay aligned on project needs. The Superintendent leads Chandos staff in the field, providing direction and oversight.

• Ensure site safety, regulatory compliance, and clear communication of roles
• Support continuous improvement and quality management systems
• Manage project activities, budgets, and subcontractor relationships
• Oversee documentation such as safety logs, timesheets, and purchase orders
• Coordinate site logistics, equipment, and waste diversion
• Maintain client relationships and ensure project specifications are met
• Facilitate staff training and participate in improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Journeyman trade certification or equivalent experience
• Technical diploma and/or Gold Seal certification are assets
• Leadership training and safety certifications
• Minimum of five years in commercial construction
• At least three years supervisory or management experience in construction
• Infection Control Certification (preferred)
