Job description

Forbes Bros Ltd. is seeking an experienced Quality Coordinator (Full-time, permanent) to join our major projects field team. This position is based out of Chatham, ON and will require frequent travel to our St. Clair project site in Sarnia, ON.

You'll work with Forbes' Quality Lead and report into Project Leadership. While you will receive guidance and tools from our Quality Group, this role answers directly to project needs - and you will have full support from site and company leadership in executing your duties.

The Quality Coordinator will work in conjunction with multiple departments to coordinate the activities required to meet the quality standards of Forbes Bros. Ltd. and the Client; ensuring products meet both external and internal standards, including legal compliance and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our everyday
  • Inspect production material as assigned for defects
  • Report defects to the appropriate manager
  • Create and maintain QA control documentation
  • Perform real-time field inspections to ensure work meets required specs
  • Perform internal QA audits that are compliant with corporate policies, practices, and procedures
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation
  • Track and maintain quality documentation, photos, and reports with proficiency in technology platforms (Excel, SharePoint, Acrobat, Procore)
  • Assist with the maintenance of QA monitoring programs, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers and support improvements by integrating quality control tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) into processes
  • Comply with Company QA programs for monitoring supplier quality, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers
  • Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization and identify deviations and take immediate action to stop work or escalate as needed
  • Participate in punch list walks, review quality records, and validate installation per plan
  • Collaborate with field teams while holding them accountable to quality expectations
  • Learn and apply specifications and project standards and help shape project-specific processes, documentation standards, and protocols
  • Resolve operational concerns with clients and ensure the implementation of interventions to minimize project delays
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned

What We Are Looking For:

  • Minimum two (2) years' quality management or industry experience is required. Preference given to those with power lines, substations, or linear infrastructure experience
  • Degree or training in construction management, engineering, or a technical field, an asset
  • Experience in field work, inspections, logistics, or quality control, is preferred
  • Strong technical fluency in Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint, is required
  • Prior exposure to Procore or similar construction software, an asset
  • Meticulous attention to detail, documentation, and time management
  • Ability to work in the field around construction crews in all conditions
  • Able and willing to travel and work extended/flexible hours if required to accommodate project/site hours of operation
  • Able and willing to provide a valid driver's license and provide an acceptable drivers abstract
