At Earthscape, we create beautiful, innovative custom playground sculptures and structures that inspire children and adults to creatively play. By partnering with some of the most prestigious Landscape Architecture firms in North America, we bring brilliant playground concepts to life. Our award-winning design-build firm is located just outside of Elmira, Ontario in Waterloo Region.

Together, our ambitious team designs, engineers, builds and installs state-of-the-art timber playgrounds that become iconic and well-loved destination spaces. The work environment we’ve created is positive, productive, fun and rewarding. To see our one-of-a-kind projects, visit www.earthscapeplay.com.

Currently, we are looking for a seasoned and highly accountable Construction Project Scheduler to join our growing team. This is a critical role for an individual who can proactively drive intricate schedules and ensure seamless operations across all internal streams, from fabrication to logistics. This role is for a highly accountable and proactive professional who thrives on orchestrating complex operations. You will be the central hub for all project scheduling and logistics, taking full ownership of project timelines from inception to completion. We are looking for someone who isn’t just a meticulous planner but a confident problem-solver who can proactively navigate our unique outside-the-box projects. You will be the strategic link that ensures our dynamic teams in design, engineering, and fabrication are always in sync.

The Role

Do you enjoy solving puzzles? Appreciate a train that arrives on time? Remembering someone’s birthday? Scheduling at Earthscape literally connects us all, and the right person helps keep us strong. Here are some of your responsibilities:

  • Own and manage end-to-end project schedules, milestones, and deliverables. Create and maintain detailed timelines that accurately reflect project scope and progress.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all scheduling conflicts, using your expertise to resolve issues independently. For more complex challenges, provide clear, concise briefings to leadership with proposed solutions.
  • Recognize inefficiencies within our system and provide insights for maintaining functionality and high-level service as the company grows.
  • Conduct regular status meetings with cross-functional teams such as design, engineering, fabrication and supply chain to review progress, anticipate potential roadblocks, and adjust schedules as needed. Your insights will be crucial in ensuring a seamless flow of operations.
  • Maintain meticulous records within our project management software, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date. Use this data to inform decisions and generate actionable insights.
  • Oversee all project-related financial tasks, including accurate and timely invoice processing and accounts receivable tracking.
  • Prepare and process invoices accurately and on time, maintaining organized records of financial documents.

Ideal Candidates Will Have

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in project management or high-level operations role
  • Experience in the manufacturing, design or construction industry is a significant plus
  • Advanced proficiency in enterprise level project management software (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira)
  • Strong proficiency in Google Suite, particularly Google Sheets
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple deadlines, personalities, and moving pieces
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping, particularly with financial data
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • A strong understanding of the construction industry, including construction materials and site work, is highly desirable

You’d Be a Great Fit If You

  • Own the Outcome — take full ownership of project schedules, proactively resolving conflicts and making strategic decisions to keep all operations flowing seamlessly
  • Thrive on Complexity — you are a confident problem-solver who can navigate the unique challenges of non-traditional projects and manage multiple deadlines, personalities, and moving parts
  • Are a Proactive Communicator — you take initiative and communicate across all departments to ensure everyone is aligned and informed
  • Are Assertive — you’re not afraid to flag improper or inadequate information to maintain high standards

What’s in it for you?

This job offers the opportunity to work on some of North America’s most innovative playground projects. The pace, challenges and problem-solving opportunities provide ongoing growth. You will have the chance to develop a wide variety of skills in our rapidly growing business. Your colleagues are dynamic and highly skilled.

We offer competitive compensation and rewards, including:

  • Profit sharing and performance bonuses
  • Employee share ownership opportunities (ESOP) after 1 year of service
  • Six-week sabbatical after 14,000 hours worked
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Extended health and dental benefits
  • Flex time with options to work remotely to support work-life balance
  • Company events
  • Casual dress code
