Job summary

ARCO a Family of Construction Companies is seeking a driven Project Manager-in-training who will manage construction projects from start to finish. The role emphasizes estimating, scheduling, cost reporting, and coordination with owners and the design team to produce robust concepts and value engineering ideas.

You will oversee subcontractor buyout, conduct site meetings, and ensure safety and quality throughout the project lifecycle, with a path to full-time employment after graduation.

Qualifications

• Estimation, scheduling, quality control and cost reporting are core project management tasks.
• Work with owners and design team to develop concepts and review scope.
• Prepare proposals and manage subcontractor buyout and progress meetings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee managerial and administrative aspects of a project, including estimating, scheduling, quality control, and progress billing.
• Ensure an accurate and complete project estimate.
• Work with owners and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings.
• Participate in proposals and review scope to reduce costs and provide value engineering ideas.
• Oversee buyout and subcontractor selection.
• Conduct bi-weekly job site meetings.
• Make decisions under tight deadlines.

A Day In The Life

• Responsible for managerial and administrative aspects of a project. Including, estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation
• Ensure an accurate and complete project estimate
• Work closely with owners and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings
• Participate in the proposal meeting with the owner to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas
• Oversee the buyout process and the selection of subcontractors
• Conduct bi-weekly job site meetings
• Make sound decisions under tight deadlines
• Organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
• Commit to quality by evaluating project-related processes
• Make necessary changes, use customer input to make improvements, and meet/exceed internal and external client expectations
• Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and other associates, while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations

Necessary Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Engineering program or related field of study
• Open to fulltime opportunity post grad
• Graduating in Winter 2026 or Spring 2027
• Minimum GPA of 3.2 out of 4.0
• Prior construction internship experience is a plus
• Extracurricular involvement is a plus
