Job Description

Turner & Townsend Heeryis seeking an experiencedConstruction Project Managerto work alongside one of our key public works clients. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, experience working in the construction industry and be able to take the initiative to drive activities with limited supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
• Financial management – Ensuring prompt client invoicing and utilizing Financial system in order to monitor a project’s financial status.
• Project planning, including producing the detailed project plan.
• Monitoring and applying performance management techniques.
• Managing the change control process.
• Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.
• Preparing formal project budget progress and other reports.
• Quality Control – Ensuring compliance with quality standards.
• Working to construct proposals for new work or variations for existing projects.
• Identifying opportunities to improve Project Management procedures, templates and products referring ideas to the appropriate line manager.
• Identifying and ensuring that the appropriate line manager is aware of quality, safety, health and environment issues.
• Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilized throughout project.
• General line management responsibilities (where appropriate) are effectively discharged.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Qualifications

• Ability to advise at a strategic level during the project conception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the client’s overall objectives.
• Great time management skills. Ensure that project is managed to the right quality standards, completed efficiently and on time.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and cross-functional team members.
• Experienced working as an effective team member within the context of delivering a specific commission.
• Business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities, are identified.
• Key information and data is effectively shared and appropriately retained.

Required Experience:

• Experience in constructing reservoir concrete tank and water pipelines/utilities
• 7 years full time paid professional experience managing civil water construction projects that includes reservoir tanks, pipelines, treatment facilities, and pump stations.
• BS degree from a recognized college or university
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to be highly effective in a client facing role.

Preferences:

• A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California State Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
• CCM – Certified Construction Manager
• Demonstrated experience working as a Project Manager within the construction industry.
• Membership in relevant professional organizations.
• Experiencemanaging demanding stakeholders and work stream managers.

Additional Information

The salary range for this full-time role is$100k-160kper year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
