PROFILE SUMMARY
Wesgroup is poised for substantial growth over the next several years and in preparation for this exciting and challenging phase, we are actively seeking a highly engaged, driven and experienced Project Coordinator to join our team.
As a Project Coordinator, you’ll be a central hub for the project – keeping information moving, deadlines met, and teams aligned. If you’re detail‑driven, proactive, and energized by variety, this role will put you at the heart of meaningful work across residential, industrial, and mixed‑use projects. You’re a self‑starter with excellent judgment, strong attention to detail, and the confidence to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders. You thrive in a fast‑paced environment, juggling priorities while staying organized, positive, and solutions‑oriented.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Project Administration & Document Control
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date document control for drawings, plans, submittals, logs, reports, and specifications (digital and hard copy).
- Manage and track shop drawings in collaboration with Project Managers.
- Prepare, participate in, and distribute timely, detailed meeting minutes.
- Collect, document, and file field data (measurements, photos, etc.).
Preconstruction, Estimating & Procurement
- In coordination with Preconstruction, prepare tender packages for subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Perform accurate on‑screen quantity take‑offs from project drawings.
- Prepare bid documents and clear, concise scopes of work.
- Source vendors and subcontractors; maintain and update the project bid list.
- Analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals and provide recommendations.
Construction Support & Coordination
- Assist the construction team with the overall management of active projects.
- Attend site meetings as needed to support coordination and follow‑through.
- Help organize workflows to meet milestones and deadlines.
Quality, Sustainability & Closeout
- Support project closeout documentation.
- Follow established systems, procedures, and company directives to uphold quality and compliance.
Technology & Continuous Improvement
- Assist and where appropriate, lead the implementation of new construction technologies and digital workflows to drive efficiency.
General Team Support
- Provide general administrative and coordination support to the construction team as required.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or degree from BCIT (or equivalent) preferred, with related field experience.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in construction.
- Experience with concrete high‑rise is ideal.
- Experience with a developer or general contractor is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret contract specifications, drawings, and other construction documents.
- Proficiency with digital take‑off/on‑screen measurement software (preferred).
- Basic skills in VDC, BIM, Autodesk ACC and ConTech tools.
- Solid MS Office Suite and Adobe skills; general comfort with new technologies.
- Above‑average mathematical skills and the ability to compile clear reports.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and over the phone).
- Strong organization and time management; able to prioritize as project demands increase.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and conflict‑resolution abilities.
- Self‑motivated, hard‑working, resourceful problem solver with a positive, upbeat attitude.
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
- Annual Base Salary: The expected salary range for this role is $70,000 - $80,000 per annum. Actual offered salary will depend on individual experience, qualifications, geographic location, market conditions for the role, and internal equity.
