Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Assistant Construction Manager to support pipeline and industrial construction projects in Canada. The role focuses on safety, quality, and timely delivery, with on-site responsibilities at client locations.

You will help supervise inspectors, review safety plans, and coordinate with contractors, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure alignment and compliance. A strong safety culture and accountability are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in pipeline, oil & gas, or industrial construction.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, codes, and industry standards.
• Technical diploma, trade certification, or engineering background considered an asset.
• Rotation: 17 days on / 4 days off.
• Strong focus on safety, collaboration, and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Support Construction Manager in overseeing pipeline / industrial construction projects.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and quality plans compliance.
• Enforce stop work authority and promote a strong safety culture.
• Oversee inspectors to ensure work aligns with drawings, specs, codes, and standards.
• Review contractor safe work practices, hazard assessments, and daily reporting.
• Monitor construction progress and drive corrective actions where required.
• Assist with NCRs, non-conformance tracking, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate with contractors, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure alignment.
• Support documentation, record management, and project close-out requirements.
• Conduct site walkdowns and ensure quality and compliance on-site.
• Provide leadership and guidance to inspection staff.
