Job description

We’re excited to launch a new state-of-the-art robotic homebuilding plant in partnership with several large homebuilders within the Greater Calgary Region. Powered by Promise Robotics' transformative production lines for timber-based panelized construction, the new plant enables our group of homebuilding partners tosignificantly increase the capacity and speed of home production within the fast-growing region of Calgary, AB.

We're reshaping the future of homebuilding—blending robotics, automation, and precision engineering to deliver beautiful, energy-efficient homes faster and more affordably than ever before. As we expand operations, we're looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Construction Manager to lead field execution and ensure the seamless integration of cutting-edge technologies with tried-and-true construction practices.

What you will do:

  • Lead all aspects of on-site construction for residential projects, from pre-construction to final handoff.
  • Coordinate with robotics and automation teams to integrate prefabricated or tech-assisted build processes.
  • Supervise and schedule trades, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain high-quality work and on-time delivery.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, safety compliance, and site documentation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between field teams, engineering, design, and HQ leadership.
  • Proactively identify risks and develop creative, pragmatic solutions on-site.
  • Champion a safety-first, quality-driven, and collaborative culture.
  • Interview, hire, train, develop, plan, and assign work, evaluate performance, recommend compensation, and discipline actions according to our policies and procedures.
  • Provide a high standard of customer services (both external and internal) for Promise Robotics, through proper and timely communication, effective quality control, timeliness in construction completion and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct inspection and review buildings to monitor compliance with building safety codes and other regulations.
  • Continuously work to develop and improve construction processes and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date construction knowledge including all local, provincial and federal building code changes; participate in educational opportunities and continue to update knowledge about construction practices, materials and construction management system.

What you will need to succeed:

  • 5+ years of experience in residential or light commercial construction.
  • Strong project management and field supervision skills.
  • Class 5 driver license in good standing
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on-time and within budget.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where tech meets trades.
  • Familiarity with Alberta Building Code and local permitting processes.
  • Completion or working towards Master Home Builder accreditation through the Professional Home Builders’ Institute would be an asset.
  • Understanding fundamentals of contracts and experience in managing contractors under the terms of a contract.
  • Able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including laborers, technical, professional and upper management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word)
  • Knowledge of building codes and labour laws.
  • Bonus: experience with prefab, modular, or robotics-enabled construction.
