The Opportunity

We are seeking a Construction Manager to join Inclined Elevation Inc.’s growing team and play a key role in the execution and delivery of projects across Ontario. Reporting to company leadership, this individual will oversee a field team and will be responsible for managing site installations, troubleshooting, and ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality builds of our inclined elevator systems.

The Construction Manager will bring hands-on experience from a General Contracting environment within the commercial or residential sectors, with a particular focus on projects in the Muskoka Region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ground-up construction and be familiar with electrical systems as they relate to the installation of elevators, escalators, or moving walkways. A solid understanding of TSSA (Technical Standards and Safety Authority) regulations pertaining to these systems is considered an asset.

In this role, you will act as the primary liaison between design, fabrication, field installation, and client stakeholders. You’ll be responsible for ensuring each lift system is constructed in compliance with building codes and engineering standards, while also adapting the installation to meet the site-specific demands of the property’s landscape

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all construction activities related to installation, service, and fabrication of inclined lift systems
  • Ensure that all field work is performed with a safety-first mindset; lead by example with personal accountability for job site safety
  • Collaborate with fabrication and design teams to interpret and execute detailed engineered drawings and specifications
  • Troubleshoot installation challenges, especially those involving electrical systems; strong electrical diagnostic skills are essential
  • Manage field teams (typically 3–4 people per crew), ensuring quality control, efficiency, and schedule adherence
  • Represent Inclined Elevation Inc. professionally with clients, stakeholders, and inspectors; act as a key point of contact on-site
  • Support shop organization and liaise with the Shop Manager and other key staff
  • Maintain familiarity with TSSA standards and compliance across projects
  • Travel within a 2-hour radius of the New Lowell office, with occasional out-of-town projects as needed
  • Support the continued growth and expansion of the business by mentoring team members and contributing to continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7+ years of hands-on General Contracting experience, preferably including elevator installation, mechanical systems, or a similar technical field
  • Strong knowledge of TSSA codes and standards related to elevators and lifts
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude; ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve on-site
  • Proven experience leading field crews and managing multiple project timelines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work directly with clients and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with the Zelio electrical programming platform is considered a strong asset
  • Comfortable with travel and working in varying site conditions
  • Field-to-fabrication experience is highly valued
