Job summary

Impact Recruitment is partnering with a leading boutique Vancouver law firm to recruit an experienced Associate for its busy construction and insurance practice. You will handle complex disputes for top clients and collaborate with a forward-thinking team on sophisticated matters.

Requires BC Bar in good standing and 3–5 years of post-call experience in construction/insurance law, with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills
• Comfortable with a 1575 annual billable target

Responsibilities

• Handle complex disputes in construction/insurance space including builder liens, delay claims, cost overruns, quality disputes, professional liability matters, and property damage disputes.
• Support Partners on larger, more sophisticated claims while managing an independent file load

Compensation

• $135,000 – $155,000, commensurate of experience and other unique factors
• Non – discretionary bonus structure tied to billable target

Responsibilities
The incumbent lawyer would be responsible for a wide range of complex disputes in the construction space, including but not limited to builder liens, delay claims, cost overruns, quality disputes, professional liability matters, property damage disputes, and more. You would be working on an independent file load while also supporting Partners on larger, more sophisticated claims.

Qualifications

• Be called to the BC Bar and be in good standing
• 3 – 5 years of post call experience with a focus on construction / insurance law
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills
• Comfortable with a 1575 annual billable target
