Here are details for the Construction Labourer / Scaffold Apprentice position.

General Job Duties:

  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times.
  • Report to work at the designated start time.
  • Working at heights.
  • Drivers license is an asset.
  • Scaffolding/construction experience considered an asset.
  • We encourage career progression.
  • We are a Unionized contractor who do a mix of Industrial/commercial projects.
  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures.
  • At certain times, this position will require employees to work shifts outside of regular Monday to Friday day shifts, i.e. night work, and may be requested to work overtime during the week, longer than 8 hour shifts, or on the weekend.
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds (32 kilograms) with regularity. Physically fit.
  • This position will require working primarily outdoors. The employee will encounter varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Employees may be exposed to moderate to high noise levels, uneven ground, extreme weather conditions, dusty conditions, working in confined spaces, working from heights exceeding two metres, highly mobile large equipment and trucks, overhead hazards and travelling public adjacent to the work area. The position requires the ability to properly assess the conditions and follow appropriate Safe Work Procedure as directed by supervisor.
  • Required to attend training and safety courses (fully paid for by the union).
  • Steel toed boots and glasses.

Skills Requirements:

  • Intermediate or better level of English.
  • Works well with others.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and motivated.

Work remotely:

  • Yes, on projects occasionally.

Job Type:

Full-time

Base Salary:

From $22.50 per hour

Experience:

  • Construction: 1 year (preferred).

Language:

  • English (preferred).

License/Certification:
