NAC Constructors Ltd. is seeking a Labourer for our Dalewood Water Reclamation Facility project in St. Thomas, ON. The role centers on physical site work, from preparation to concrete placement, with opportunities to assist multiple trades and contribute to safe, efficient project delivery.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years in construction, can read basic drawings, and holds WHMIS and fall-arrest certifications. Strong team attitude and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience in the construction industry preferred.
• Ability to read basic drawings is an asset.
• Valid safety training certificates (WHMIS, elevated/aerial work platform, fall arrest) are required.

Responsibilities

• Site preparation and maintenance for heavy construction projects.
• Concrete placing, demolition and chipping as required.
• Rebar placing with attention to cover specifications.
• Assist carpenters and other trades to support project progress.
• Operate light excavation equipment and other machines safely.
• Maintain safe work practices and report hazards daily.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Civil Superintendent, the Skilled Labourer plays a crucial role in the successful completion of North America Construction (1993) Ltd./NAC Constructors Ltd. construction projects. This individual will be heavily involved in the construction process and perform tasks involving physical labour for heavy construction projects, including site preparation, maintenance, demolition and building of construction materials.Working in confined spaces, rigging and scaffolding are core functions of this role. The Skilled Labourer must perform all work to regulated organizational, provincial and federal standards and procedures.The ability to adhere to the highest standards of safety & quality are mandatory.The Labourer position consists of a graduated career succession of various levels.

NAC is currently seeking a full-time Labourer, initially based at our Dalewood Water Reclamation Facility project in St. Thomas, ON.

• Perform work in accordance with all organizational, provincial and federal health and safety standards and legislation, ensuring highest standard of safety is upheld.
• Perform daily site assessments, including identification of potential work site hazards.
• Prepare work areas for installation, performing all necessary excavation preparation.
• Perform site preparation and clean up duties.
• Manually or through the use of equipment, place materials accurately and according to drawings and/or direction.
• Assist with the placement and stripping of formwork as required.
• Material handling.
• Perform concrete placing and demolition and chipping of concrete.
• Rebar placing, while ensuring the importance of cover as per specifications.
• Maintain organizational services, facilities and equipment.
• Engage in all forms of labouring to assist in the successful completion of construction projects from start to finish.
• Tend to and operate a variety of machines and equipment necessary for the job, including light excavation equipment.
• Assist carpenters and various other trades as necessary.
• 3-5 years’ experience working in the construction industry preferred
• Experience with wood and advanced formwork systems and occasional concrete placement
• Concrete finishing experience is an asset
• Concrete demolition experience
• Some light rigging and hoisting experience
• Ability to read basic drawings an asset
• Ability to take and follow instruction
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Possess leadership qualities
• Excellent attendance and attitude
• Knowledge of safe operation of tools
• Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
• Heavy lifting may be required
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
• Valid WHMIS, Elevated/Aerial Work Platform, Health and Safety Awareness Training for Workers and Working at Heights/Fall Arrest certificates are required
• Skid Steer / Telehandler experience required
