Job description

Reporting to the Construction Site Superintendent, the Construction Labourer performs a variety of manual labour on residential construction sites using hand and power tools as well as heavy equipment. The Construction Labourer provides support to the Site Supervisor and maintains a safe and clean workspace.

Duties

· Provide support to the Site Supervisor and Site Assistant through various hands-on construction and site tasks

· Assist tradespeople with physical tasks in varying outdoor weather conditions

· Perform manual labour duties, including lifting heavy loads and navigating construction job site terrain

· Load and unload equipment to and from vehicles and construction sites

· Operate hand and power tools as well as heavy equipment

· Dig and rake

· Put together and take apart scaffolding, barricades, and guard rails

· Clean up work areas before and after completion of construction project

· Perform traffic control when needed

· Report issues with equipment and safety violations immediately to supervisor

Requirements

· Minimum 1 year of experience using tools and operating machinery including Merlo

· Minimum 1 year of experience in residential building or related construction industry

· Experience using a loader and skidsteer preferred

· Proficient with smartphones

· Good organizational skills with ability to get things done according to timelines

· Good communication skills – especially verbal

· Good customer service skills

· Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

· Criminal background check required
