Job summary

Rising Edge Group is an electrical contracting company seeking a Labourer to support crew leads with general labour duties on site at our DOW Chemical Facility in Alberta. You will dig, lift, move materials and help maintain a safe, organized worksite.

Requirements include Grade 10 or higher, at least 1 year of construction experience, ability to work outdoors in all weather, valid Class 5 driver’s license, and CSTS certification is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education equivalent to Grade 10; High School Diploma preferred.
  • At least 1 year of construction experience, preferably within the medium- to high-voltage industry.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physically demanding outdoor work, digging, lifting, and material movement.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the job site.
  • Remove snow from the job site as required.
  • Safely operate and maintain company vehicles when needed.
  • Assist equipment operators by securing attachments and guiding movements.
  • Safely use and maintain basic hand tools.

What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the role of Labourer supports crew leads with general labour activities, including digging, lifting, and maintaining a clean and organized job site. This role requires the safe use of basic hand tools and, when required, the operation of company vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced outdoor environment under various weather conditions, including digging, lifting, cable pulling and moving materials and equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the job site, including ongoing general cleanup
  • Remove snow from the job site, as required
  • Safely operate and maintain company vehicles when required, and report any maintenance needs to the Site Supervisor
  • Assist equipment operators by securing attachments and guiding equipment and material movement on site
  • Safely use and maintain basic hand tools
Additional Information

Schedule Project schedule will require 48 hours per week. Monday - Thursday 10 hour days, Friday 8 hour day. This is an on-site position at the DOW Chemical Facility. Preference will be given to local candidates, as Living Out Allowance (LOA) is not provided for this role.

What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum education equivalent to Grade 10; High School Diploma preferred
  • At least 1 year of construction experience, preferably within the medium- to high-voltage industry
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 55 lbs
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and after-hours as required
  • Comfortable working at heights (minimum of 9 feet) and climbing ladders
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Valid CSTS (Construction Safety Training System) certification considered an asset
