Job description

Construction Labourer

Firma Contracting is currently seeking Labourers to work on underground projects located in Edmonton. We offer competitive wages, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training and potential for work over the winter.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Physical tasks, including digging, sweeping, lifting, shoveling, and moving materials

  • Ensure safety fences / barricades are all in place

  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed

  • Actively participate in all safety meetings

  • General site housekeeping

Required Skills:

  • Previous construction experience is required

  • Understand how to use power/small tools such as plate tampers, carb saws, etc.

  • Ability to work long hours (10+ hour days) outdoors in various weather conditions

  • Physical able to perform heavy manual tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving heavy materials up to 50lbs

  • Working understanding of site hazard assessments and able to complete daily safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner

  • Be fit for duty and prepared for work each day

  • Positive attitude / team player

  • Strong communication / listening skills and ability to follow direction
