Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Construction Inspector with surveying experience to support field operations in Toronto. This role involves on-site inspection of civil infrastructure projects and performing layout verification using GPS and digital levels. You will ensure construction work meets design specifications, safety regulations, and project quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect construction activities to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and codes (e.g., MTO Book 7, OHSA).
  • Take accurate measurements to support quality assurance and contractor billing.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports with supporting photographs.
  • Assist with contractor submissions, field changes, payment reviews, and closeout documentation.
  • Perform topographic surveys, layout checks, and as-built verification using GPS and auto levels.
  • Prepare or support creation of survey drawings using AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
  • Coordinate with the design team using survey data to inform field decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering.
  • 1–2 years of experience in construction inspection or surveying (recent graduates will be considered).
  • Familiarity with Ontario regulations (MTO Book 7, OHSA, O. Reg. 22/04).
  • Experience with topographic surveying equipment such as Topcon, Trimble, Leica, etc.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GPS, and auto level use.
  • OACETT registration (or eligibility) is an asset.
  • Valid Class G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
