Job summary

JSS FORMING & MINI EXCAVATING SERVICES LTD. is hiring a construction helper to support on-site operations at our location in Surrey, BC. No formal degree required; on-the-job training is available and experience is considered an asset.

You will assist with material handling, formwork, scaffolding and routine site tasks under supervision. Wage is $25.50 per hour, with a standard 40-hour work week. This is a full-time, permanent position requiring on-site work.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and transport construction materials.
• Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps and barricades.
• Mix, pour and spread concrete or asphalt as needed.
• Level earth to fine grade specifications and clean up site debris.
• Assist with routine maintenance and operate basic equipment.

Tasks: Load, unload and transport construction materials. Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Level earth to fine grade specifications. Clean and pile salvaged materials. Perform routine maintenance work. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites. Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction.

Experience: Experience an asset.

Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth. Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
