WSP has a new opportunity for a Construction Field Engineers to join our Earth and Environment Applied Solutions (EEAS) team, rotational work with two weeks on and two weeks off, at a remote site near Squamish BC. Travel to and from the project is paid for by WSP.

The position is anticipated to start June 2025 and run until February 2026 with opportunity to extend.

The construction team handles a diverse range of construction operations related to projects across Canada in support of WSP’s engineers, scientists, and the other operating divisions.

The Applied Solutions teams’ practice of engineering focuses on delivering “How-To” for our project teams and clients and working closely to deliver the “How-to” in the field with our construction colleagues. Our practice area provides technical leadership to projects and developing technical solutions to solve challenges in construction projects.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Detailed engineering design and specification package development;
  • Project development, work method statements, project planning, phasing and scheduling – working with stakeholders to ensure constructible project delivery. Candidates must demonstrate means and methods knowledge of construct with the ability to provide detailed sequential descriptions of how to execute work. Candidates will assist with other constructability reviews;
  • Pile installation monitoring and responsible for pile logs
  • Assist with management of project health and safety, with support from the operational and corporate H&S team;
  • Project scheduling (MS Project and Primavera P6 or other platforms);
  • Working with field staff to resolve technical and constructability issues; and,
  • Assist senior staff with business development
  • Two weeks on and two weeks off field rotations


What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineer, and/or Construction Management, B.A.Sc. or equivalent.
  • A track record (verifiable) of filed engineering experience with demonstratable role progression.
  • Minimum of 2 - 8 years’ experience in professional engineering practice in a variety of project assignments
  • Experience in Projects related to Marine Construction and pile installation would be desirable.
  • Must be willing to travel 100%
  • Must be willing to work night shifts
  • Self-starter and with a willingness to learn and experience.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong organizational skills


Compensation:

Salary range (in British Columbia): $82,900 to $114,000

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
