Job summary

Green Sky Roofing is seeking an estimator with 2–3 years of experience to prepare labour and material cost estimates, read blueprints, and develop bid packages for commercial, industrial, and residential projects in Calgary. You will produce take-offs, manage cost reports, and liaise with engineers, architects, and contractors to refine estimates.

The role requires on-site work at our Calgary location, strong communication skills, and proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation is required.
• 2–3 years estimating experience in construction.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Experience with cost estimating and take-offs.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
• Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present clients.
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Prepare master format estimates (Class A).
• Operate CADD and other computer software systems.
• Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads.
• Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms.
• Utilize quantity take-off procedures.
• Advise on tendering procedures.
• Monitor and adjust contract expenditures.
• Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors.
• Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
