Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Engineer – Water/Wet Utilities to join our team! In this role you will support the delivery of water and wet utility systems within a large-scale airport infrastructure project and assist in overseeing the construction and installation of potable water, wastewater, stormwater, and fire water systems.This role is critical to ensuring that all wet utility works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
What You'll Be Doing:
Assist in monitoring site activities related to water and wet utility works, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety guidelines.
Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure proper sequencing and installation of wet utility systems.
Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals for water, sewer, and stormwater networks.
Support the review of as-built drawings and ensure alignment with actual construction.
Conduct routine inspections to monitor quality of construction and adherence to design standards.
Identify and report non-conformances and assist in the implementation of corrective actions.
Liaise with other engineering disciplines, site supervisors, and construction teams to resolve technical issues and ensure utility integration with other airport systems.
Participate in coordination meetings and prepare reports on construction progress.
Support implementation of HSE procedures on site for wet utility works.
Ensure all utility installations comply with local codes, client requirements, and environmental standards.
Track construction progress and assist in updating utility work schedules.
Prepare daily site reports, progress updates, and maintain project documentation.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
2 years of experience in infrastructure or utilities construction, preferably on large infrastructure or airport projects.
Exposure to installation of potable water, stormwater, sewage, and fire protection piping systems.
Basic understanding of water/wastewater utility design and construction practices.
Familiarity with industry codes and standards (e.g., ASTM, AWWA, ASME, local municipality guidelines).
Ability to read and interpret utility drawings and construction specifications.
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) and basic use of AutoCAD.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience on airport, municipal, or large infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of construction management software (e.g., Aconex, Primavera).
Awareness of safety and environmental considerations in utility construction.
