Reporting to the Master Electrician, our 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice must ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant safety regulations and company policies. They will follow project specifications and timelines, working efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines. Effective communication with supervisors and team members is essential to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
Location: Vaughan, ON
Hours: 6:30am – 3:30pm M-Th, 6:30am – 1pm F
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist running wires in walls, floors and ceilings
- Assist installing electrical boxes, switches and receptacles
- Assist installing brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment
- Assist installing lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment
- Assist troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove faulty components
- EMT and conduit work
- Assist connect electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signaling devices and heating and cooling systems
- Follows safety protocol and comply with safety and occupational standards
- Medium level skill for reading and interpreting drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications
- Assist layout for in slab installation
- Maintain and store tools and equipment properly
- Plan and execute electrical installations
Required Qualifications:
- Working towards Red Seal Electrician License or Journeyman certification is an asset
- Safety certifications are an asset (First Aid, Fall Arrest, WHMIS, etc)
- Good problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with standard industry tools and techniques
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours/day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms
- Must be able to climb scaffoldings.
