Job description

As a leader within our Contract Administration Division, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of your projects.

Duties include, but are not limited to :

  1. Supervising Construction Inspectors;
  2. Reviewing and understanding relevant OPSS and contract special provisions;
  3. Interpreting requirements and details of contract drawings and specifications;
  4. Inspecting construction operations to ensure compliance with contract documents, quality, and safety standards;
  5. Verifying quantities, preparing progress reports, and maintaining documentation;
  6. Reviewing, interpreting, and analyzing contractor’s critical path schedules;
  7. Reconciling progress payments promptly and maintaining compliance with contract and statutory requirements;
  8. Proactively identifying issues, recommending mitigation measures, and evaluating incidents early;
  9. Promoting and overseeing compliance with health and safety regulations;
  10. Preparing reports, quantity measurements, claims, and payment certifications;
  11. Liaising with contractors and clients;
  12. Performing other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fully bilingual (French and English) is mandatory;
  • University degree or College diploma in Civil Engineering;
  • Experience as a Contract Administrator, Resident Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, or supporting these roles;
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications;
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset;
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills;
  • Willingness to learn;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team;
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle, registration, and insurance;
  • Flexibility to work schedules and travel to site locations within the area.

EXPERIENCE

  • Registered engineer with OIQ and in good standing preferred;
  • Experience supporting roles on at least two previous projects;
  • Over 5 years of experience in Rail, Transit, or road construction projects.
