Title of Position:

Job Duties:

• General carpentry including measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Repair building envelopes and decayed wood framing
• Renovate residences and wooden structures
• Install windows/doors, exterior siding, wood fascia, and trim boards
• Build and repair decks
• Structural framing

Terms of Employment:
Full-time, permanent (40 hours/week)

Expected Employment Start Date: as soon as possible

Wage:
$35.00/hour

109 - 3060 Norland Avenue, Burnaby, BC, V5B 3A6 and multiple locations in Metro Vancouver depending on the jobsite address

Skills Requirements – Education and Work Experience:

Education: Secondary school required

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 18 months as a carpenter required
• Proficiency in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools
• Demonstrable construction knowledge (overall understanding of the construction process and sequencing) required

Additional Requirements:

• Interested in learning carpentry trade, building and renovating
• Own pouch and carpenter hand tools, safety compliant boots, and hard hat
• Punctual; be on time every day
• Reliable
• Dependable
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Follow PCM, provincial health, and Worksafe BC safety regulations
