Job summary

A construction staffing agency in South Etobicoke is looking for a site assistant to help prepare construction sites and facilitate communication between supervisors and field workers. The ideal candidate must have working at heights and WHMIS certifications and previous construction experience is preferred. Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow safety guidelines are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Must have working at heights, WHMIS and Workers Health and Safety in 4 Step Certificates.
• Previous experience in construction or a related field is advantageous.
• Familiarity with construction terminology and processes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing construction site by setting up tools and equipment.
• Facilitate communication between supervisors and field workers.
• Participate in physical tasks including lifting and loading.
• Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed on-site.

Location: South Etobicoke (must have valid working at heights certificate)

Hours - Monday to Friday 7 am - approximately 5 pm

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing construction site by setting up tools (must have knowledge of all hand tools) and equipment, ensuring that the area is organized and safe for work.
• Facilitate communication between supervisors and field workers to enhance project clarity and efficiency.
• Participate in physical tasks, which may include lifting, loading, drywalling and taping, loading, and other manual labor as required by the project.
• Ensure that all safety guidelines and regulations are followed on-site to minimize risks and accidents.

Qualifications

• Must have working at heights, WHMIS and Workers Health and Safety in 4 Step Certificates and any relevant certificates as asset.
• Must have all PPE ( safety boots, safety vest, hard hat)
• Previous experience in construction or a related field is advantageous. Familiarity with construction terminology and processes is beneficial.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for success in this role.
