Intact Financial Corporation seeks a Senior Claims Counsel specializing in FINPRO+ to support complex professional liability, D&O, cyber, and financial crime claims. You will work with in‑house and external counsel, drive mediations, and influence settlement strategies while managing the lifecycle of litigated matters from start to resolution.

Based in Montreal, you will analyze coverage, establish reserves, and advise on risk and cost control.

Qualifications

• Interest in litigation, negotiation and resolving complex disputes.
• Strong analytical, contractual interpretation and drafting skills.
• Ability to analyze situations with legal, financial and reputational implications.
• Comfort negotiating with third parties to pragmatically resolve cases.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex coverage analyses and support conclusions with well‑founded coverage letters.
• Manage complex claims in E&O, D&O, cyber and financial crime.
• Collaborate with assigned lawyers to shape defense and settlement strategies.
• Participate in mediations and settlement conferences.
• Negotiate directly with third parties to promote effective settlements when appropriate.
• Assess legal, financial and reputational risks to guide decisions.
