Job summary

Intact Financial Corporation in Montreal/Quebec City seeks a Claims Technical Consultant, Surety, to manage and analyze complex surety claims. You will work with a cross-functional team to minimize losses while ensuring compliance and timely reporting.

You’ll need a law/engineering/finance-related degree and 10+ years of experience, with bilingual French-English proficiency. The role offers hybrid work and strong growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in law, engineering, business administration, finance or accounting.
• Ten or more years of relevant work experience.
• Professionalism, flexibility and excellent customer service.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex surety claims and communicate with construction stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Develop and build a strategy to minimize losses while respecting obligations.
• Ensure recovery of amounts paid by Intact.
• Coordinate management of complex litigation files and their financial aspects.
• Manage all aspects of claims files and assign tasks to team members.
• Mentor and support other team members.
• Contribute to the improvement of claims management processes.
• Document and communicate all claims activity for leadership review.
• Provide regular reports to management.
• Work closely with Underwriting.
