Job Description

Within the support and international assistance team, the incumbent provides support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computers, peripherals, and software according to established standards. The person will contact users, follow up on their requests, and ensure completion. Support will be provided to the Toronto office and other offices across the Americas.

The desktop environment is a key aspect of CDPQ's TN evolution strategy, aiming to stay connected everywhere at all times, support globalization, and deploy tools to enhance collaboration. This includes upgrading workstations, managing office tools, collaboration tools, videoconferencing, and telephony.

Responsibilities include:

  • Act as the first contact for user incidents;
  • Analyze requests, diagnose, and resolve software and hardware issues;
  • Proactively follow up on requests and communicate with users;
  • Install, configure, maintain, and relocate computers and peripherals;
  • Support conference room technology;
  • Participate in production deployments according to standards;
  • Document troubleshooting processes and procedures;
  • Participate in workstation-related projects;
  • Provide basic training on tools to users;
  • Support on-call outside of business hours;
  • Follow up with vendors on various initiatives;
  • Serve as the first point of contact for service requests related to equipment, software, applications, and network issues, escalating high-priority problems to management;
  • Provide first-level training and support for major CDPQ business applications;
  • Manage IT onboarding and offboarding of new hires.

Candidate Profile:

  • Ambitious, accountable, open, collaborative, and communicative;
  • Advisory skills and ease in explaining solutions;
  • Tolerance for ambiguity, organizational skills, autonomy, and rigor;
  • Initiative-driven.

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service skills and excellent interpersonal abilities;
  • Between 1 and 4 years of experience as a desktop technician;
  • Understanding of international support environments (an asset);
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Proficiency in Windows, Office 365, InTune, conference room technologies;
  • Organizational skills, team spirit;
  • Ability to install and relocate IT equipment;
  • Fluent in English and good command of French, both spoken and written.
