We are looking for a reliable, interpersonal, motivated individual to join our Regulatory and Transmission Services Team as a Connection Process Analyst.
Our Regulatory and Transmission Services Team provides crucial support for connection and system projects, optimizing processes, and driving efficiency. As guardians of the AESO’s transmission project processes, we lead with precision, integrity, and innovation. Our team is responsible for overseeing the AESO connection and system processes, including developing and maintaining process documentation, tools, and managing changes.
As a Connection Process Analyst you will be accountable for System Access Service Request (SASR) admissions, review and processing, and project document development and management. This entry-level position coordinates within the Transmission Services team and cross functionally with other members of the Customer Connections business units, including project management and engineering disciplines. This role also communicates on routine matters with external stakeholders. Career progression opportunities for this role include the Analyst and Project Management competency streams.

Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Collect information and process application forms and documents in support of the AESO Connection Process.
Receive and process new or amended applications for system access service (SASRs), facilitate cross functional SASR review and create project file architecture with accuracy, and in accordance with defined timelines.
Manage the external distribution of project communications.
Develop and maintain a clear understanding of the AESO connection and cluster assessment processes.
Appropriately direct issues and questions to the appropriate subject matter expert, and where required escalate to leadership for resolution.
Proactively identify efficiencies and improvements to templates and tools within scope of role.
Develop and maintain a database of common connection process questions and responses.
Maintain productive and positive working relationships with team members, AESO staff and external stakeholders, including TFOs, DFOs and Market Participants.
File and document management. Provide support, as required, to other Regulatory and Transmission Services team members.
Prepare, maintain, and update templates in adherence with established AESO processes and standards.
Provide routine and ad-hoc reports and analysis relative to project and SASR status and timelines.
Deliver and maintain high-quality, accurate work within established timelines.
What you’ll bring to us:
Bachelor’s degree or an acceptable combination of education and work experience. Classes, courses, or experience in project management would be considered an asset.
Prior project coordination experience or previous utility experience is considered an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite, Adobe and SharePoint online.
Working knowledge of Adobe Workfront or similar project management tools (Asana, Jira, Primavera, MS Project) and Power BI would be considered an asset.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities concurrently, meet defined time lines, with conscientious attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate in a cross functional environment, with a variety of technical teams.
Driven to personally achieve quality results in a timely and effective manner.
A team player who maintains a positive, energetic can-do-attitude.
