Nestled in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD, InterContinental Hotel Brisbane will open to guests this winter, offering 321 spacious hotel rooms and suites, all day dining restaurant and lobby bar, outdoor pool, fitness centre and Club Lounge, all in a prime location above Queen Street Mall, perfect for exploring the city’s top attractions. With over 1800 square metres of meeting and events spaces, InterContinental Brisbane offers versatile function rooms and a Grand Ballroom catering for up to 1000 guests, making it a great choice for business and leisure events alike.

With impressive meeting spaces, our C&E team will drive MICE business and support the execution of seamless banquets, corporate functions, parties and more, for all clients. As Conference & Event Sales Coordinator, you’ll play a crucial role in administering and organising events sales and planning, and ensuring a high-end experience for guests.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but as part of our team, you will play a key role in:

  1. Prepare Weekly Events Forecast and seize upselling opportunities
  2. Ensure the timely follow-up and pursuit of strategic relationships with customers and stakeholders in order to drive the highest levels of guest satisfaction
  3. Ensure timely delivery of Master Invoice to customers and facilitate payment
  4. Work closely with the Reservations, Sales & Marketing, and F&B departments to ensure the accounts from the events are consolidated & reconciled
  5. In the pre-event planning process, consult with the meeting planners to identify optimal meeting room configuration, recommendation on meeting/break flow, menu planning, food & beverage coordination, table arrangements, decoration options, etc. to improve meeting efficiency and productivity
  6. Assigned upon situation, as the point-of-contact to give immediate assistance in order that customer’s needs are met quickly and their event runs smoothly
  7. Ensure the organisation of post-event calls and Feedback Survey collection, and follow up with customers to obtain event feedback and identify further business opportunities

What we need from you

  1. Previous experience in a hotel meetings and events setting
  2. Demonstrated support and administration in the executing of high-profile events, including corporate, social, and private events
  3. Exceptional organisation, time management and attention to detail
  4. High level written and verbal communication skills
  5. Tertiary studies underway or achieved in event management, hospitality management or related field
  6. Fluent in the English language
  7. Impeccable grooming standards and good personal hygiene
  8. Full working rights in Australia without restrictions
