Job summary

CarbiCrete Inc. in Montréal, QC seeks a Materials Testing Technologist for Concrete R&D. This hands-on role focuses on testing, materials development, and quality control across concrete, aggregates, and by-products in an on-site lab and pilot-scale setting.

Responsibilities include designing trials, analyzing results, and supporting process development while adhering to CSA/ASTM standards. Experience with lab instrumentation and data reporting is essential.

Qualifications

• A post-secondary qualification in a field directly related to construction materials or materials testing is required.
• University engineering degree is considered an asset with substantial lab experience.
• Minimum 2 years of directly relevant hands-on lab or industrial experience in construction materials.
• Experience in concrete, aggregates, mineral materials testing and related fields.
• Familiarity with CSA/ASTM standards and quality-control testing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document laboratory testing of concrete, masonry materials, aggregates, steel slag, and other industrial minerals.
• Prepare, batch, and evaluate experimental concrete formulations incorporating steel slag and other materials.
• Support mix designs, lab-to-pilot scale validation, and process-development activities.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory testing equipment.
• Design structured trials, collect and analyze data, and prepare technical reports.
