Job summary

CapWest Build in Vancouver is seeking a skilled Concrete Pump Operator to safely drive and operate brand-new concrete pump and placing boom equipment at job sites. You will ensure safety, assist with setup, cleanup, and basic maintenance, and support project teams with timely deliveries.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of construction experience as a pump operator, a valid Class 1 or Class 3 with air endorsement, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years construction experience as a concrete pump operator.
• Experience operating high-pressure line pumps and articulating boom pumps.
• Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver's license with air endorsement.
• Knowledge of concrete industry, mix designs.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Physically fit, punctual, dependable and hardworking.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Drive the pump to the job site and back to the yard safely.
• Operate the pump, set up the system, and clean out after the job.
• Perform light pump maintenance and report problems.
• Represent the company through courteous service and teamwork.
• Keep the unit clean and the yard tidy; manage concrete and grease.
• Return system to proper yard location after use.
• Complete and submit pump inspection forms, job tickets and maintenance forms.
• Maintain an accurate timecard of hours worked.
• Perform other tasks and operate additional equipment as needed.

There is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to join the Construction team in Vancouver as a Concrete Pump Operator. This role will be responsible to safely drive and operate brand new concrete pump and placing boom equipment, while ensuring that all safety measures and precautions are taken into account.

What Will You Do?

• Drive the pump in a safe and conscientious manner to the job site and back to the yard.
• Operate the pump in a safe and conscientious manner, set up system, and clean out the pump after the job.
• Light repair of pumps: Some maintenance is required. Know the pump well enough to recognize problems and report them.
• Customer relations: Represent the Company through efficient work and courteous service.
• Keep unit clean: Keep the pump and truck washed and free of concrete and grease. Keep system free of concrete.
• Yard: Return system after use to appropriate location in yard. Keep yard neat and orderly.
• Paperwork: Complete and submit pump inspection forms, job ticket and maintenance forms.
• Keep an accurate timecard of time worked.
• Perform a variety of tasks and operate other equipment as needed or required when not pumping concrete.

What You Bring

• Minimum of 3-5 years working in construction as a concrete pump operator
• Previous experience operating high pressure line pumps and articulating boom pumps
• Must have valid and clean class 1 drivers’ license or class 3 drivers’ license with air endorsement
• Knowledge of the concrete industry – understanding concrete and mix designs
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Physically fit, punctual, dependable and hardworking
• Willingness to work over-time as required
