Job description

Black & McDonald’s Dartmouth office is looking for a full-time hands-on leader with a passion for concrete work that can work on a wide variety of Civil, and concrete forming projects. You would be working with a Team of experienced workers in a safe working environment in HRM and the surrounding area. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Leading and mentoring a hardworking crew, ensuring every project runs smoothly
2. Civil work including grading, excavation, conduit installation, compaction
3. Building and setting up concrete forms to precise specifications
4. Pouring and finishing concrete – forming and finishing skills are a must
5. Operating equipment such as tampers, cut-off saws, and skid steers
6. Collaborating with Project Managers and other teams to get the job done right
7. Reading and interpreting blueprints and site plans to execute top-notch work

Work Experience Requirements:

1. 3 – 5 years of hands-on concrete experience
2. A valid Class 5 license with a clean driver’s abstract
3. A team player with great organizational and time management skills
4. Someone who can handle the physical demands – lifting 50+ lbs, standing, walking, and bending for long hours
5. Adapt easily to a variety of tasks
6. Comfortable working outdoors in all kinds of weather
7. Must be able to get a variety of security clearances

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week (Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work)
